Located in Otea, a short
boat ride from the main Vava'u island, Kapa Island is 4 miles
long and approximately 1/2 mile wide and is home to 3 villages:
Otea, Falevai and Kapa. The "road" that runs the length
of the island is more ideal for hiking. There are no cars on Otea
but there is a chance you may pass some wild horses along the
trail.
The resort offers deluxe accommodations in Tongan style fales which are spacious, well appointed with beautiful natural woods, tile and local tropical decor. Each has a private deck and a sitting area for reading, etc. The individual fales comfortably accommodate 2 guests, have private baths, hot water, are beautifully decorated and have awesome views of the azure waters of the lagoon and surrounding islands.
The resort offers a full
or partial meal plan at the
The Whales
Tale Restaurant offering a healthy breakfast, mid-day meal and
Pacific Rim dinner selections featuring organic locally grown
fresh vegetables and herbs in addition to the fresh catch that
may include snapper, mahimahi, ahi and even lobster (seasonally)as
well as specialty chicken and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant
offers a place where guests may dine privately to reflect on the
days encounters or gather to share the day's experiences over
a meal. There are even weekly prizes given to the teller of the
best "tale of a whale" or "whale of a tale"
story - provided there is some truth in it, of course!

You will experience both the peace and solitude of the islands as well as have the opportunity to meet the Tongan people , shop and eat at locally owned and operated businesses, and experience a Tongan Feast and dance show.
